Slough Youth Orchestra:
Open to all musicians playing woodwind, brass, strings, or percussion family instruments.
Performing a range of: Film music, Theatre, Classical, Pop, and more – The World of Orchestra is limitless and continually developing!
Meet like-minded musicians from schools in the community and surrounding areas. Perform in concert venues, for projects, events, recordings, and further opportunities.
Previous concerts and performances include: Reading Hexagon Theatre, Royal Albert Hall, Windsor Parish Church, St. Mary’s Church, Langley Grammar School, St. Bernard’s Catholic Grammar School, Eton College Chapel.
Approx. Grade 3+ standard on your chosen instrument (no formal exams need to have been taken). Contact us if you are not quite at that level yet, as you might find it’s suited to you!
Directed by Mr. D. Batsman on a project-by-project basis!
Wednesdays: The group also meet weekly at St. Bernard’s Catholic Grammar School, 4:00 – 5:15pm. This is a free weekly rehearsal directed by Mr. M. Bango. Regular attendance is expected in order to take part in the wider projects and concerts.
Slough Training Orchestra:
We are looking to open this up to all musicians playing woodwind, brass, strings, or percussion family instruments, as well as the Sound Beam. Please ask for more info.
Exploring an introduction to the world of orchestra through fun, accessible, varied genres of music, developing early ensemble skills required to progress.
Grade 1-3 standard or equivalent (no formal exams need to have been taken).
Currently we are forming a waiting list for this group, please contact us if your child or young person is interested in our new initiative-in-waiting.
Band Workshop Days:
Students can come and develop their skills to learn how to perform in bands! Led by our tutor team of professionally performing Band professionals, providing for Juniors (9-11s) and Seniors (12+)
Often held in the school holidays, on a project-by-project basis. Please get in touch if you would like more information.
Music Centre Choir at LHSPA:
Thursdays: 3:30-4:30pm – Lynch Hill School Primary Academy
Open to Key Stage 2 students
Exploration of vocal techniques and learning songs for concerts and events in the community!
Choir Leader: Miss M. Connor.
Music Technology Centre:
Thursdays: 4-6pm – Langley Grammar School
Open to any students in Slough with an interest in Music Technology.
Skills-based sessions in Afro-Beat, Hip-Hop, Trap, Classical, and Contemporary genres, learning how to record, mix, and produce beats and music in a studio.
Sessions run by Karl Drummond and Amit Kamboj.
Rap School:
Mondays: 4-6pm at the Curve, Gallery Room
Learn writing skills to perform your own unique creations in the genre of Rap Music, with performance and collaborative opportunities

Jazz Collective (NEW!) + Community Drumming at Newlands Girls’ School

Slough Youth Soul Choir:
Mondays: Term-time only: 5-7pm – The Curve (William Street, Slough)
Open to all 6-16 year olds in Slough with an interest in singing.
This is an independent choir supported by Beat Routes and Slough Music service.
Currently fully booked!

Adult Community Choir – ‘Curve Community Choir’
Thursdays: (School Term-time only) 6:30-8pm – Trinity United Reform Church (Windsor Road, Slough).
Open to anyone aged 16 or over. Small fees apply. Sing a wide variety of genres and take part in performances throughout the year.
Choir leader: Rob Harris.

Family Drumming Workshops
Mondays: 4-5:30pm – Langley Pavilion
Samba and Djembe drumming for all ages! Families are welcome and encouraged to attend, as well as adults and young people in the community.
