Music Service is offering a range of services for all schools to
develop vocal and instrumental learning, as well as supporting
the work of teachers and music leaders across Slough. Many of these services are fully funded, others have to be charged for.

Seeds and Songs -
New Arrivals / EAL support
Currently fully funded |
Seeds and Songs began as a national partnership programme between Slough Music Service, The Sage Gateshead and The Oval House Theatre, London. We have continued to provide this musical theatre group which is for new arrivals and pupils with little or no English. We hold weekly after school sessions which aim to develop language skills, confidence and integration through singing, dance and drama. Pupils who would benefit from these sessions should be referred by their head teacher. Please contact us for more information. |

After school music, dance and drama clubs
A charged for service |
We also offer a range of after school clubs
through extended services. We can currently offer percussion and
singing clubs, dance and drama workshops, before or after school hours. These services are
charged to schools at an hourly rate. |

Gifted Musicians Programme
Currently fully funded |
Each spring term we hold a series of workshops for pupils who are musically gifted - those who show an inate sense of musicianship without necessarily playing an instrument. |

Bands, Choirs and Ensembles
Charged directly to parents |
For pupils who play and instrument already (are having lessons) or want to sing, we have two music centres - in Langley and Burnham. There is also the Slough School's Steel Band and Slough Singers, our choir for adults |

Events and workshops |
We hold a range of events throughout the year. The singing festival in November (KS1&2), the Young Musicians' Festival in March (all phases) and one-day events such as singing from scratch. See the events listings or contact us for details |

We can provide your school with specialist instrument/vocal teachers to give small group/individual instrumental lessons in your school. This service can be paid for by your school, or we can charge the parents directly. |

Musicianship training for EYFS staff

Our training course enables all early years
staff to lead and develop music with their children. Based on
the principles of Kodaly, Dalcroze and Colourstrings

Meeting the
DCSF pledge to offer access to vocal and instrumental tuition
for all those that want it. A range of one year musicianship
programmes with an instrumental focus. The government has pledged that every primary school child must have the opportuntity to learn a musical instrument if they wish to. We can provide this for every KS2 phase school, fully funded |

We can offercurriculum support to help new and musically
inexperienced teachers who need support delivering music in the classroom. Please

Curriculum enhancement workshops |
We are
able to offer all secondary schools a choice of workshops to
offer curriculum enhancement experiences for your pupils. Schools are allocated an allowance per year
to buy in workshops, but schools will need to make accommodation
and timetabling arrangements as requested by the workshop
providers, and host them on the day. |
