Slough Young Musicians' Festival 2012

2012 is our third year of the Slough Young Musicians' Festival. This year is slightly different, with a month of celebrations of musical events across the borough.

There are no ticket sales or entrance charges for any concerts, just turn up. Seating is available on a first-come basis.

Thursday 8th March
4pm at The West Wing Arts Centre, Stoke Road, Slough

Gifted Musicians' Programme Performance

presenting the songs they have been writing based on the values of the Olympic Games.
This programme is one of the highlights of our creative year, and discovers some extraorginary ability in our students.

Monday 12th to Thursday 15th March
2pm at The Centre, Farnham Road, Slough

Whole class instrumental workshops
with the Barbican Guildhall Creative Alliance

Our last two festivals have included two performances by pupils learning instruments in their classes as part of our wider opportunities programmes.

This year we have extended the experience to create 4 whole day workshops, where pupils will sing and play to each other, and create large scale performances of music they have been writing in their classes.

Wednesday 21st March
7.00pm at The Centre, Farnham Road, Slough

Secondary Schools' Showcase
including the ISSP Choir, with David Lawrence and guests

The annual celebration of music in secondary schools, with a few special guests from primary pupils. The ISSP choir is singing as usual, and there will be performances from musicians representing Arbour Vale School, St Joseph's High School, Herschel Grammar School and more.
